Materials to extend apparent volume distribution (VD) of slag during electric furnace iron making are characterized by release of additional heat energy as the result of firing coal contained in the foaming agent. The foamed slag protects elements of the furnace and affects lower consumption of electrodes and reduced electric energy. Effective slag foaming is achieved by simultaneous injection of coal and oxygen. The LC foaming agent made according to the Patent No 175924 contains raw dolomite and coal in the form fit for insufflation with compressed air or some other gas carrier by means of standard insufflation control units. Using the foaming agent according to the Patent results in lowering CO2 by 40 to 50% in relation to coal foaming agents.
